About the One Day Café

The One Day Café is a place for everyone in the local Plumstead community.

The One Day Café will be a café and community centre in Plumstead Common which will become a heart for the community. It will be a place where people can participate in events and share interests, information and skills to help improve involvement with and enrich the cultural life of the local community.

The work of the One Day Café involves three key areas:

• Café and Community Events, including:
  diverse menu of food and drink; cookery workshops; mother and baby groups and more
• Arts and Cultural Events, including:
  art exhibitions; music, theatre and dance workshops and performances; book groups and more
• Wellness and Healing, including:
  environmental education; yoga; meditation; Alexander Technique; massage and more

We are currently working toward setting up a permanent venue, where locals can come for coffee, lunch or tea, see art by local artists, listen to local musicians and become involved with a full range of community, wellness, environmental and artistic activities. Currently events are hosted by venues on Plumstead Common until the centre establishes its permanent home.

We have gained interest and support from the Plumstead Common Environment Group, Greenwich Council and many, many members of the local community around the Plumstead Common and the Plumstead High Street areas.
